I jumped into producing when I became a nightclub singer in 1989. Back then I didn’t think of what I was doing that way. It took a while. I worked with so many good people. 

It was fun, it was hard, it was exhilarating. Seth Goldman and I started working together off and on, creating mini-nightclubs within clubs and theater spaces, honky tonk bars, the whole gamut.

Over the years I fell in love with creating things, collaborating with more and more people. I came to love it as much as the music.

We produced 2AM and 3AM, the dogs, the milkman and me, my first two albums.

Then in 2011, Seth and I launched Moscow 57, a small hospitality and entertainment company. Ethan Fein joined us in the music end of things. We made Ice Wine – songs for Christmas and dark winter nights and our single of When I Was A Boy. 

We went on to produce M57 Pop-Up Urban Salons.They were mini-happenings with live music, visual arts and M57 menus, from Harlem and Washington Heights to Connecticut and Wash, D.C and on down to New Orleans. One of our M57 pop-ups was the 2012 summer series, M57 Under the Tracks, in East Harlem, which was covered by The New York Times and The Village Voice.

We created the podcast series M57 On Air Urban Salon right as they began making them, a variety show recorded at Nola Studio on 57th Street. 

In 2014 we opened our restaurant Moscow 57 on Delancey Street in NYC. I ran it with Seth who was our Executive Chef. Adan Moran was Chef de Cuisine. Ethan and I performed nightly with a roster of terrific musicians. We had a great staff. It was an odd, eccentric little place with a lot of heart. 

M57 Straight From Delancey, our second podcast series, was recorded by Bill Moss in the restaurant with a live audience. It was a hoot.

When M57 the restaurant closed we focused on a new venture,  a not-for-profit which Ethan had created with a few people that evolved into LiveIt!LIVE.org. Its mission was to connect artists and venues with audiences. We did a bunch of pop ups under the LiveIt!Live banner and developed a streaming variety show right when streaming came into existence. 

Now I’m making Old Bones Odyssey, the project, the album, the show and soon a podcast series. I started working decades ago on the earliest versions of the OBO story and it’s wonderful to see it come to life again, in this new form. I’m co-producer on the album and the show. My new production company is Repair With Gold LLC.
